GORE Adhesive Vent extends outdoor enclosure life
W.L. Gore & Associates has announced the expansion of its GORE Protective Vents with a new product, the series VE9 Adhesive Vent, engineered to increase the reliability of outdoor electronic enclosures that are commonly exposed to changing weather and environmental conditions. Not requiring expensive ruggedized seals and gaskets, the Series VE9 Adhesive Vent enables outdoor electronic enclosures to be designed with nirmal seals and gaskets to save costs.
This enables longer product life for manufacturers of outdoor electronic enclosures used in the telecommunications, exterior lighting, solar and smart meter industries. The Series VE9 Adhesive Vent features a durable adhesive and all ePTFE construction. This allows the vent to be mounted on either the interior or exterior of the housing, simplifying integration into the enclosure. This offers increased reliability and flexibility while reducing costs.
Offering a typical airflow of 1150 ml/min/cm2, the Series VE9 Adhesive Vent meets industry standards while enabling the fast equalization of pressure caused by sudden temperature change. The Series VE9 Vent is robust enough to withstand water, dust, dirt, rain, and other harmful liquids which often cause problems for non-vented outdoor enclosures.
Offered in various sizes, the new Series VE9 Adhesive Vent is the latest addition to Gore’s Adhesive Vents. In addition, Gore offers a full line of plastic and metal screw-in vents which are available in various thread types. GORE Protective Vents will help improve product performance and increase the lifetime of sensitive electronics by equalizing pressure and managing condensation in the enclosure. At the same time, these vents protect electronics from contaminants such as dirt, dust, salts, water and various harmful liquids.
