Boasting hidden mounting brackets for rapid installation and extra security, the aluSMART range of IP67 and IP69K aluminium electronic and electrical enclosures has been launched by ROLEC. The enclosures can be  mounted to walls, bulkheads and machines quickly and easily with the lids closed to protect the electronics inside.

The mounting bracket is concealed on the underside of the housing which can then be secured to it using four screws. ROLEC aluSMART has been designed for industrial applications including control equipment, monitoring, metering and detection, terminal housings, electrical equipment and machine controllers.

These modern, aesthetically pleasing enclosures have all the advantages of the existing click-to-install aluCLIC range:

• robust construction, go anywhere installation
• no visible fixings – the lid fixings screw into place from the underside
• large lid recess for mounting a membrane keypad or product label
• no channels for mounting screws – creating extra room inside the enclosure
• internal screw pillars for mounting PCBs and assemblies.

But the screw-on mounting bracket provides a greater level of security. New aluSMART is manufactured from diecast aluminium with a 1° die-casting draft for cast ejection. The mounting device is stainless steel. The lid gasket is TPE thermoplastic (-40°C to +120°C). Three sizes of aluSMART are available: 130 x 90 x 70 mm; 160 x 110 x 70 mm; 200 x 110 x 70 mm. Prices start at £53.

The standard colour is powder coat Light Grey (RAL 7035) but other colours are available on request (16 colours in stock can specified at no extra cost). Other options are EMC shielding, an IP69K gasket (-55°C to +160°C), silicon gasket (-50°C to +140°C) and a corrosion-proof coating. Customising options include CNC milling and drilling, silk-screen and tampo printing of legends and logos, assembly of components.
