A cooling system which can reduce the cost of CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) by up to 40% has been introduced by Retex. To keep equipment cool data centres can use CRAC and cold aisle containment systems which manage the temperature of a room. Retex claims that by using Cool Row alongside these systems the temperature of a room can be managed more effectively.

Cold aisle containment systems are stood in front of the racks in data centres, whereas Cool Row cooling systems are stood between and feature eight EC fans with variable speeds which enables air to be distributed into the room more evenly and reduces energy costs.

The Cool Row is compatible with many cold aisle containment systems, including the Retex Datalogic cabinet rooms. They are designed to provide cooling for medium to high density applications, with a single unit being suitable for up to 35kW. The towers are easily maintained and the filters and fans can be replaced whilst in use. Each unit only consumes 770W at full power, further adding to the overall efficiency of the data centre.
