A Mini-ITX motherboard, which supports the Intel Q87 chipset and next-gen Intel Core processors, has been released by IBASE Technology. Suitable for applications in industrial control, factory automation, communications and gaming industries, the MI981 is designed to provide high performance and flexibility for functional expansions.

The 4th gen Intel Core processors, manufactured on 22nm process technology with 3D tri-gate transistors, enable improved computing and graphics performance and enhanced security over platforms built with the 3rd gen Intel Core processors. Featuring VGA CRT, DVI-D, LVDS and Display Port display interfaces, the motherboard provides high-end graphics capabilities. Computer platform integrity is enabled by TPM version 1.2, while remote system monitoring, upgrading and repairing is allowed by iAMT 9.1, when used with a software management application.

Two DDR3-1600 SO-DIMM memory slots are supported by the MI981 for a maximum capacity of 16GB. I/O connections include six USB 3.0 ports, six USB 2.0 ports, six serial ports, four SATA III ports and two Gigabit Ethernets. Two Mini PCIe slots, one mSATA slot and one PCIe (16x) slot allow users to add expansion cards. Enabling a more environmentally friendly performance, the motherboard features IBASE’s iSMART green technology with intelligent scheduler and power savings.
