Making an appearance at Embedded World 2017 this week, Wind River with the theme top of mind for most is overwhelmingly Industrial IoT.

Guest blog by Gareth Noyes.

Appropriate theme, seeing as on the first day a breakthrough software platform was shown for control systems that are believed to transform the future of Industrial IoT.

Wind River Titanium Control is an on-premise cloud-scale infrastructure that enables companies to cost-effectively evolve aging legacy control systems not previously designed to support IoT.

The response to the platform has been surprisingly overwhelming, and it is in active trials with customers in industries ranging from manufacturing to energy to healthcare.

There was a speech yesterday at the event about how a software-defined infrastructure is the key to Industrial IoT given traditional industrial control systems were not designed to support the connected nature of IoT.

Tomorrow in another speaking session, where the company will be taking a close look at the system architectures related to security for autonomous driving, with a particular focus on the use case of semi-autonomous highway driving.

Additionally, there is a hosting of series of exhibitor forum sessions covering product portfolio, including VxWorksWind River Helix Device Cloud, and newly introduced Titanium Control.

At Hall 4, Booth 158 Wind River is showcasing technology in a series of demos covering industrial automation, connected vehicle, medical, energy, smart building, and avionics.
