ZF Electronics has won the Gold Standard Award from Mars Drinks, the vending machines company, for the third consecutive year. Open to the company’s assured suppliers, the Mars Gold Award recognises robust quality management systems, consistent quality conformance and superior delivery performance, essential supplier attributes for Mars Drinks, who serve more than a billion beverages every year to businesses worldwide.
ZF Electronics supplies approximately 200,000 Cherry D4 and DB series micro switches to Mars for use in its flagship KLIX® Outlook™ and KLIX® 450 mid-range vending machines. Nine Cherry switches are used in each model to control the position of the cups, door closure, water level and the position of various internal mechanisms, all of which help ensure the beverage is dispensed correctly. Ken Dack, Product Support and VQA Engineer QEPD Machines at Mars Drinks commented: “ZF Electronics delivers Cherry switches to our Basingstoke–based Mars manufacturing plant weekly. With such a tight and frequent schedule, it is essential that targets for on time and complete deliveries are met. ZF Electronics has achieved better-than-target performance over the past three years and exceeded product reliability and performance criteria over the same period. Having won our Gold Award for 2007 and 2008, it is a genuine pleasure to present ZF Electronics with the 2009 Award.”
