Kiwi Plug is a simple device that plugs into the audio jack of your smartphone or tablet (Android or IOS) in order to turn it into a universal remote. Kiwi Plug works with hundreds of brands and any device controlled by IR, including TVs, air-conditioners, speakers, cameras etc. from brands including LG, Motorola and Panasonic.

Kiwi Plug connects to your devices through infrared signals and uses the KIWI PLUG App (available for free on the App Store and Play Store) for control. It plugs into the 3.5mm audio jack (headphone) port of your smartphone/tablet and offers an effective range up to 15m. The infrared emitter is compatible with all appliances controlled by an infrared remote control: this means that Kiwi Plug is truly universal.

The Kiwi Plug device is extremely compact, measuring 30.5x11x47.6mm, and lightweight, weighing just 7g. It has a built-in battery capacity of 55mAh and accepts a 5VDC, 1A input for charging. This means that a 10 minute charge will enable up to 6 months battery life.

The KIWI PLUG App enables you to match the Ir signal to your devices using the massive cloud-based remote databases or, if the appliance brand or make isn’t listed, you can use the DIY option to create your own remote. You can also customise the layout of the remote buttons.

You can back the Kickstarter campaign from just €1 and get your hands on a Kiwi Plug from just €19.
