An evaporative cooler claimed to be the world’s first personal air conditioner has been introduced. The Evapolar is a desktop cooler that is both powerful and compact; it cools, humidifies and cleans the air, creating a ‘microclimate’.

The out-of-the-box solution emulates a natural cooling process, making it healthy for the skin and hair. Operating on the power of water evaporation, the Evapolar utilises a specially developed evaporative nanomaterial based on basalt fibres. This material enabled the cooler to be designed at one-tenth the size of a conventional air conditioner.

As well as being 12 times more efficient than traditional split systems, the solution is eco-friendly. Free of Freon or any other toxic coolant, the Evapolar uses recyclable evaporative materials.

Available in white or black, the cooler can be pre-ordered for $149.00 (retail cost $250) on the Evapolor Indiegogo campaign page.
