Future Electronics has strengthened its position in the lighting sector by signing a distribution agreement covering EMEA with Flashnet, a provider of Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure and smart city solutions. The agreement sees Future distributing Flashnet’s inteliLIGHT, a LoRaWAN-compatible smart street lighting solution. It is effective immediately.

Amar Abid-Ali, EMEA Vertical Segment Manager for Wireless Connectivity at Future Electronics, said: ‘A leading distributor of smart lighting solutions, Future Electronics is always looking at ways to simplify the design process, and to provide complete solutions to help our customers get their products to market more quickly. The new partnership with Flashnet enables our customers to implement a complete, fully tested and fully certified connectivity solution for street lighting control based on LoRaWAN in a fraction of the time needed when using discrete components and modules.’

inteliLIGHT is a smart streetlight control system that transforms any legacy lighting installation into a modern and proactive infrastructure. It enables municipal street lighting managers to gain awareness of and control over the entire street lighting grid, together with improved scheduling and maintenance applications.

Furthermore, LoRaWAN is a modern, long range, low bit-rate radio communication system which allows incredibly fast deployments and entails lower implementation costs, regardless of location or power supply conditions.

Following this agreement, Flashnet’s solution will be promoted by Future Electronics’ specialized sales teams across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, and the hardware will be available on the company’s online sales platform.

The inteliLIGHT LoRaWAN-compatible controller will be added to the largest available-to-sell electronic components inventory in the world, supported by award-winning customer service and best-in-class global trade compliance practices.

‘Smart cities are developing worldwide and streetlighting management is one of the key issues addressed by modern cities. inteliLIGHT LoRaWAN-compatible controllers have been tested in tens of countries all around the world and we are confident that the new distribution agreement concluded with Future Electronics will help municipalities have better solution information and product stock availability in support of their projects,’ stated Lorand Mozes, CEO of Flashnet. Future Electronics will demonstrate the inteliLIGHT technology at the Embedded World 2017 exhibition (Nuremberg, Germany, 14-16 March).
