NXP Announces First-Ever Best Supplier Awards

NXP Semiconductors N.V. presented its first-ever Best Supplier Awards at the company’s Supplier Day on September 1, 2011. The event drew participation from NXP’s global supply base with over 90 suppliers across 17 countries represented. Suppliers from equipment, materials, external manufacturing and indirect spend areas participated in the event, which was hosted by NXP’s chief executive officer and members of the NXP management team.
“By implementing our global Supplier Day and Awards, we are striving to strengthen relationships with key leading suppliers who are committed to jointly delivering maximum value to our customers through constant value improvement and cost leadership,” said Rick Clemmer, president and CEO, NXP Semiconductors.

To recognize outstanding contributions, NXP presented awards to its best performing suppliers across four different award categories

Best Supplier Front End Materials & Equipment: Soitec SA, supplier of SOI wafers
Best Supplier Back End Materials & Equipment: Tanaka Kikinzoku International, supplier of bonding wires.

Best Supplier Indirect Materials and Services: Tata Consultancy Services, provider of IT solutions and services
Best Supplier Quality: Compugraphics International Ltd, provider of photo mask solutions

“The Supplier Day and Awards ceremony mark the importance of supplier relations as part of our company strategy and are a significant milestone for the company in fostering stronger supplier relationships. We would like to thank and congratulate the winners of NXP’s first supplier awards, and look forward to ongoing recognition of key suppliers, as we continue to build our Strategic Supplier Relationship Management activities with our global supply base,” said Jacky McNulty-Ehemann, senior vice president and chief procurement officer, NXP Semiconductors.

In addition to recognizing top performers over the past year, NXP senior executives used the event as a platform to align the company’s top suppliers with its core business strategies and innovation roadmaps in High Performance Mixed Signal and Standard Products, and deliver key insights into end customer markets. They emphasized the need for stronger collaboration built on global leverage, cost leadership to deliver the maximum value at lowest price, and institutionalization of best-in-class practices for operational excellence in quality and service.
