nstrated applications focuses on Kalray’s primary target markets including real time professional video pre-processing and encoding, high performance cryptography, signal processing and augmented reality. All applications take full advantage of the MPPA-256 peak performance that is fully aligned with the specifications previously announced: 700 Gops (700 billion operations per second) and 230 GFlops (230 billion floating point operations per second) on a single chip.
Kalray’s flagship product, the MPPA DEVELOPER station, integrates both the MPPA-256 manycore processor on a PCI Gen 3 board and the MPPA ACCESSCORE Software Development Kit. MPPA ACCESSCORE offers standard GNU C/C++ development tools and libraries as well as two programming models (Dataflow and POSIX) to manage task and data parallelism, automatic mapping on the MPPA MANYCORE hardware and memory resource sizing. Both models assist developers in obtaining optimal performance from the MPPA manycore processor and significantly improve their productivity. The first units of MPPA DEVELOPER stations are readily available through our privileged customer access program. Thanks to its alliance with world leading manufacturing and supply chain organizations, namely TSMC, GUC and Bull, Kalray is capable of delivering as many as 1000 MPPA DEVELOPER throughout 2013 with early commercial shipment starting in February.
With this announcement, Kalray demonstrates its world-class know-how in designing and delivering advanced manycore architectures. As an acknowledgment of this unique expertise and ability to fulfill its commitment, Kalray has also successfully closed its third round of fundraising in the course of December 2012. The continued support of its funding partners allows Kalray to further increase its business development effort.
