Martin C. Frederiksen has recently been appointed as the new congatec Sales Director for Northern Europe to strengthen the company’s sales and support organisation in the UK and in Scandinavia. Together with the appointment of Martin Frederiksen, the Northern European sales team has been extended further with the addition of Anders Rasmussen and Jon Moseley as Key Account Managers. Additionally, congatec has recently created a new, wholly owned London-based subsidiary.

Jason Carlson, CEO of congatec, explained the company’s strategy for the UK and Scandinavia: “These regions are home to many great companies from start-ups to large multi-nationals across many industries including medical and industrial, IoT, communications, and transportation. congatec’s strength is our focus on partnering with our customers to help them best meet their objectives. Martin, Jon, and Anders are veterans of the embedded industry, and will leverage their experience to meet the needs of these customers and drive strong growth in these regions.”

Fred Barden, Vice President Worldwide Sales, commented on the new sales team setup for the Nordics and the UK: “The sales process in the industrial and embedded computing industry is long and demanding and relies on trustful relationships. We will brand congatec as the natural go-to- provider of embedded modules and SBCs in Northern Europe, as congatec is in Germany today.”

Christian Eder, Marketing Director, congatec added: “In the computer module business we’re number one in Europe but we’re a company that wants to grow and we see in the UK there’s a huge market that we’re not addressing. We’ve tried to do that over the last few years by just using sales partners in the UK but that wasn’t a very direct approach and the goal is to really settle down and be a local company in the UK. ”

Frederiksen continued: “The UK is a big economy and the companies here are used to working with local contacts. You need to be local in order to get your share of the market and to be taken seriously, especially by the big defence contractors and the big medical companies. You need that local presence, and the same applies in places like France and Germany. From the customer’s point of view it’s important to be there and be available for them if they need you, especially in the module market which moves so fast.

“Now that we have the limited company setup we will be able to increase our local presence through internal sales. There are a lot of new companies in the UK and start ups. The UK is a lot more dynamic than the rest of Europe, there’s a lot of investment going on, which is of great interest to us.”
