New from microwave and RF component specialist Link Microtek is a family of millimetre-wave SDLVAs (successive detection log video amplifiers) that offer exceptional performance in terms of both tangential signal sensitivity and dynamic range.
Manufactured by Endwave Corporation, the devices are ideal for use in early-warning and ELINT receivers, DF radar systems and other radar and missile-guidance systems.

The SDLVAs are available in three full and partial band configurations, covering 18-40GHz (part number ASDA-81840), 18-26GHz (ASDA-81826) and 26-40GHz (ASDA-82640), all of which are hermetically sealed using a laser weld process and deliver stable thermal performance from -45 to +85degC.

Typical tangential signal sensitivity is specified as -65dBm @ 85degC (30MHz video bandwidth), and the devices typically have a dynamic range in excess of 69dB. Log linearity and frequency flatness are less than +/-1.0dB and +/-1.5dB respectively.

The SDLVAs are enhanced derivatives of the 18-40GHz DLVA products that were added to Endwave’s portfolio following its recent acquisition of ALC Microwave.
