Microscan Asserts Cognex Patent Infringement Claim to be Without Merit

Microscan today affirmed its position that a patent infringement lawsuit filed against the company by Cognex Corporation of Natick, MA is without merit. The lawsuit alleges that Microscan's Mobile Hawk, a handheld product used to read Direct Part Mark codes, infringes on a patent held by Cognex.
Microscan President, Scott Summerville, stated, “Microscan has made Cognex fully aware of its belief that the patent alleged is not infringed by the Mobile Hawk and that the relevant patent claims in any event are invalid. Microscan will be defending its rights to fairly compete with Cognex to the fullest extent available.”
