Littelfuse's goal is to make appliances easier to use; these things include being self-sufficient, self-running, safer, smarter and more user friendly. These things translate to making life easier. The company is driving miniaturisation and longevity, long term reliability.

At Littelfuse, the company are tying together not only circuit protection but also power control and contactless sensing systems for smart functionality, by providing these critical efficiencies at both the electro-mechanical level and the board level.

Littelfuse is a complete solutions company. The company is bringing power efficiency and automation for today and tomorrow's smart appliances. And we see trends in multiple markets: automotive, industrial, consumer appliances. Littelfuse can take all of those broader visions, innovations from these other markets to appliance designers.

Connected appliances have become more and more a part of regular life. People don't really think about wired telephones anymore, and they'll forget about wired appliances too, moving towards to more seamless self-sustaining systems. Consumers will take connected appliances for granted just as they do with smartphones.

We see the same trend in appliances just like we do in automotive; it's that constant drive for energy efficiency, and Littelfuse has the same response here.

Take an example, a traditional mechanical part consumes a lot more power as they wear out, such as a door switch on a refrigerator. They get more hungry as they get older. Now take a magnetic sensor as an example, our Hall effect sensors require very little power and no moving parts, thus ensuring higher efficiency and longer life. It all adds up to a greener planet. Littelfuse innovations are helping enable the new designs we're seeing today.
