Juki Automation Systems, a world-leading provider of automated assembly products and systems, announces that it has received a purchase order from Fleetwood Group for its FlexSolderWave FSW620.
Founded in 1955, Fleetwood Group is a leading manufacturer of portable response systems, language and learning labs, and mobile educational storage systems. Founded in 1959, Fleetwood Group Electronics is a leading manufacturer of Interactive Audience Response Systems and RTLS products for Healthcare. “Fleetwood Group, Inc. chose the Juki FlexSolderWave 620 to meet its need for a selective solder machine that was capable of solving two problems. First, to achieve a cycle time that was able to support both our SMT lines running the same product and, second, to significantly decrease our current time spent on PM,” commented Mike Glass, VP of Operations, Electronics Division of Fleetwood Group Inc.

“We are very pleased to add Fleetwood to our selective solder customer base. It was a pleasure working with their professional staff in developing a solution for their applications, and we, at Juki, look forward to a long, beneficial partnership for many years to come,” commented Bob Watters, Juki Eastern Regional Sales Manager.

The FlexSolderWave FSW620 is a traditional mini-wave soldering system capable of supporting board sizes up to 20 x 20 depending on nozzle configuration. The FSW620 is the only machine in its class to offer three autonomous acting soldering nozzles, allowing the use of three different sizes and/or types of nozzles without changeover.

Additionally, the mini-wave selective solder pot can be removed and replaced easily with a larger pot with an 18 full turbulent wave in order to run boards specifically designed for traditional wave soldering machines, giving the customer a “real” opportunity to eliminate their wave machine.

The FSW620 is designed to support a variety of nozzles. It can support wetted nozzles down to 1.8 mm, traditional mini-wave nozzles up to 30 mm and even a special miniature wide wave that is 43 mm wide. The FSW620 also offers both 0° and 7° soldering to accommodate these various nozzle types.
