Energy Micro announced that Markus Florian has joined the company as Sales Director for Central Europe. The appointment further strengthens the company’s sales operations in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region to support the rapid growth of Energy Micro’s ultra low energy ARM® Cortex™ based EFM32 MCUs. Based in Munich, Germany, Markus Florian moves to Energy Micro with more than 10 years’ experience in semiconductor sales, heading up both internal and external team resources for consumer electronics, industrial and automotive applications. He joins from Epson Semiconductor where he was responsible for the pan-European distribution network and selected OEMs for low-power MCUs and display controllers. Prior to this, he held key account management positions at Advanced Micro Devices and ATI Technologies.
“Energy Micro has already achieved significant sales growth of its energy friendly microcontrollers in the Central European market. I look forward to the challenge of progressing this trend and to advancing the adoption of Energy Micro’s EFM32 Gecko MCU and EFR4 Draco radio products in a wide range of energy sensitive applications,” commented Markus Florian.
Energy Micro's VP Sales EMEA, Jürgen Hoika, said, Energy Micro’s ultra low power microcontrollers and radio transceivers offer a clear competitive advantage to customers in the smart metering, home and industrial automation, security and portable health and fitness markets. Design-wins in Central Europe are currently the strongest in EMEA and Markus brings all the relevant experience to develop and boost Energy Micro’s presence in this important region.”
