demmel product’s Next Generation Intelligent LCDs (iLCDs) can now be accessed via TCP/IP and PoE powered. The optional board will be presented along with the entire iLCD product line at the electronica 2010 in Hall A3, Booth 434.

As opposed to common touch panel PC solutions, demmel products’ iLCDs in conjunction with the new Ethernet board provides easy and cost-effective TCP/IP access without using an operating system.

As a further option, the board can also be equipped with Power over Ethernet (PoE), eliminating the need for a local power supply. All color iLCDs from 3.5” to 10.2” are board-compatible and can be connected with the included flex-cable.

The IP address can either be manually set or obtained automatically from a DHCP server. If needed, network security can be achieved through an encrypted password and the possibility of limiting access to a single IP address.

Due to the innovative design of iLDC products, any desired Windows font, static and animated graphics, text messages and macros can be stored in the iLCD controller's 32 Mbyte flash memory. Additional graphics and proprietary data can be stored on a micro SD card. The extensive number of compact high-level commands provided for controlling the iLCDs generate extremely low network traffic, making it possible to operate many iLCDs concurrently via a single PC.

The free iLCD Manager software has been updated to support the new TCP-IP board and automatically detects all iLCDs in the network. Rapid downloading of flash data via Ethernet also makes the expansion board ideal for an accelerated development of stand-alone applications, which will be ultimately controlled by USB, RS232, I²C or SPI.
