Contour Energy Systemshas today revealed the appointment of Louis E. Lupo as President and CEO. Lupo will guide Contour’s strategic vision and direction in pursuit of significant growth opportunities in existing and new applications for the company’s market-leading Lithium/Carbon Fluoride battery technology, combined with future corporate acquisitions of complementary technologies.

“Our Li/CFx primary battery products will continue to experience significant market growth due to superior performance and excellent price/performance value,” Lupo said. “As a competitive edge, our patented ‘Tunable Cathode’ allows our cells to be fine-tuned and customized for optimal energy and power density—making them ideal for aerospace, defence, medical and other primary applications requiring low internal resistance and light weight.”

A 25-year industry veteran, Mr. Lupo was previously VP/GM of TS3 Technology Inc., an electronics manufacturing services company that acquired Presscom Electronics, LLC in 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Lupo was Executive VP of EaglePicher Technologies, a $200 million high-technology specialty battery and specialty material manufacturer for defense and aerospace applications. Prior to EaglePicher, Mr. Lupo held executive positions in engineering, business development, marketing and operations with Honeywell International and BE Aerospace.

Lou earned his B.S. from Western Michigan University and an EMBA in strategic planning and finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ.
