L2Tek has signed an agreement with Lontium Semiconductor to represent the company and distribute its low power, mixed-signal ICs and SoC products in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.  China-based Lontium's products include splitters, switches, extenders, converters, transmitters, receivers and controllers for video broadcast, digital signage and surveillance applications.

Many of its devices combine a number of these functions to minimise component-count, cost and board space in professional video products, TVs, monitors, smartphones, notebooks and PCs.

The standards addressed by Lontium Semiconductor chips include HDMI, Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL), USB, MIPI, and both digital and analogue audio. For example, the company's HDMI 2.0 splitter solutions support 3D video formats and 4K x 2K extended resolution formats up to 6Gbps data rate.

L2Tek's director Mark Scott-South said, "Lontium has an extensive range of chipsets serving HD video and audio control, switching and bridging between standards. The company has a busy schedule for new product launches in 2016 to meet the ever-increasing demand for mixed signal solutions serving ultra HD digital media applications."
