Barix AG, a pioneer in IP-based audio, intercom, control, and monitoring, announces that partner SkyWare Communications of Hong Kong will exhibit a range of new and existing Barix Audio over IP products for professional security applications at the 2009 CPSE show (China Public Security Expo), taking place November 1-4 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China. (Stand 3-C058 and 3-C061).
Barix has secured many high-profile security projects in the Asia-Pacific market in recent years, including the installation of more than 1,000 Barionet IP control devices to monitor electrical substations across Singapore; and Annuncicom bi-directional IP intercom solutions to communicate with truck drivers at a Hong Kong/China border/customs station. The Barix exhibit at CPSE will focus on two key technical strategies for professional security: Integrated solutions with PC-based central servers and headends; and standalone, smaller-scale systems with Barix audio/control over IP solutions at the core.

Integrated Solutions
Barix will showcase its Annuncicom and Barionet solutions for larger-scale integrated solutions, emphasizing real-world examples of how the products interoperate with other leading vendor solutions. SkyWare will demonstrate how Milestone Systems is using the Barionet to bridge Milestone XProtect™ software with physical devices to trigger camera movements and activate video recording based on motion, sound, light and other events. The Barionet includes multiple inputs and outputs to connect analog and digital devices.

SkyWare will also demonstrate how SureView Systems is integrating Annuncicom devices into its Immix automation software platform. The integrated solution provides monitoring centers and other security businesses with an unlimited amount of audio surveillance, intercom and access control points, enabling remote, IP-based communication with external subjects from a central location.

Standalone Systems
Standalone solutions on display include its various Annuncicom, Barionet and Exstreamer IP decoding devices as well as the Barix Paging Station PS16, a compact, multifunction master intercom station to be exhibited in China for the first time. The PS16 features a flexible gooseneck microphone, a one-watt speaker, a 2x24 character backlit LCD, and 16 user-definable push buttons, and connects directly to a facility network. It can communicate with other PS16 stations or Barix Audio over IP devices as well as IP-enabled microphones, speakers, amplifiers or intercom panels spread over a large area. It is ideal for distributed intercom, monitoring, or paging systems in security applications, where voice communications from one-to-many points is a critical requirement.

The PS16, with its built-in intelligence and full programmability, enables systems integrators and end users to simply create PC-Free applications including live IP intercom and paging, automated playback of stored messages, SIP-capable phone communications, and desktop intercom communications. The lack of any PC or server requirement simplifies the integration process, increases reliability, and further reduces costs for the end user.

All Barix products are inexpensive, low-power devices that are scalable to the growth of the operation; offer reliability through a PC-FREE design with no moving parts; and serve as a flexible platform for integration into virtually any operation requiring audio transport and delivery. Barix also offers its programmable BCL standard open to all customers to easily tailor applications for specific needs. Local control, audio relay, and low-latency streaming are a few examples of custom programs using Barix’s BCL software environment.
