Agilent Technologies Appoints EdgeBio Target Enrichment Certified Service Provider for Next-Generation Sequencing

Agilent Technologies and EdgeBio today announced that EdgeBio has been appointed Certified Service Provider (CSP) for the Agilent SureSelect Target Enrichment System for next-generation sequencing. SureSelect, introduced in February 2009, has been shown to greatly increase the speed and cost-efficiency of next-generation sequencing workflows by enabling experiments to focus on genomic regions of interest rather than sequencing the entire genome.

EdgeBio achieved SureSelect CSP status for the Life Technologies SOLiD 4 sequencing platform after completing training and demonstrating proficiency with the target enrichment system.

The SureSelect portfolio includes target enrichment for user-specified genomic regions, human kinome, human X chromosome and human all exon sequencing. Agilent SureSelect XT combines sequencing library preparation and gDNA preparative reagents with the proven Agilent SureSelect Target Enrichment System for unprecedented productivity and convenience. SureSelect XT can be combined with Agilent's automation portfolio for large-scale, high-performance studies.

In addition to SOLiD, Agilent SureSelect Target Enrichment supports the Illumina Genome Analyzer and HiSeq platforms, and the 454 Life Sciences platform.

Agilent's SureSelect Target Enrichment portfolio offers the industry's broadest range of target enrichment products and the most highly optimized protocols for a diverse set of sequencing methods and platforms. SureSelect products are available for enrichment of target sizes ranging from smaller than 200 Kb to more than 50 Mb in a single tube.

Users of Agilent's eArray xD desktop design tool can improve the efficiency of their research by easily designing custom products to target any genome of interest, all in a single tube. Agilent also offers the eArray online design tool, enabling users to customize predefined SureSelect kits such as the SureSelect Human All Exon series of products.
