As gamers across the UK join the queue for 2016’s most eagerly awaited tech release, Ashford-based radio programme The TechTalk Show will be among the first to hear about the brave new reality. From today, players can ‘live the game’ as the PlayStation VR headset hits the shops.

Allowing gamers to experience their cyber world in a completely new way, the device is tipped to take virtual reality to the masses.

Everyone wants to get their hands on this sizzling hot bit of tech, but The TechTalk Show is clearly the place to be heard if you want to make an impact on the UK market. At 1pm on Thursday 13th October, Simon Benson, Director of Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe’s Immersive Technology Group, will join presenters Steve Griffiths and Dan Hawkes to chat live on air.

Simon will be revealing how the PlayStation VR puts users at the centre of the action, opening up a stunning virtual reality world unlike anything they will have experienced before.

The TechTalk Show was founded by Sue Nelson, a Tech London Advocate and confirmed tech fan. Broadcast live from its Ashford studio, the show features only those people and products right at the cutting edge of technology.

"The TechTalk Show is becoming a really popular destination for anyone interested in the latest tech innovations – not just the live show but the podcasts too,” Sue said. “We're so pleased that Simon wants to take time out to tell us about this exciting Sony development and we can't wait hear what he has to say. Take it from us, VR is going to be huge. It's the next tech wave and it will hit every sector, from gaming to health, cyber security to everyday business and everything in between."

Designed to offer both gaming and non-gaming users a remarkable level of immersion and detail in their virtual world, the headset is the first of its kind for PlayStation.

Players’ heads are accurately tracked by the system allowing for seamless movement, while 3D sound means that gamers will experience noises from all around them and overhead. Users will also be able to enjoy 360° photos and videos that are captured by devices such as omnidirectional cameras on PS VR via PS4 Media Player, which will let them feel as if they are physically inside the captured scene.
