Telonic Instruments has announced the introduction of Kikusui’s latest TOS9200 Series of Withstanding Voltage / Insulation Testers the most sophisticated in their range of electrical safety test equipment intended for production test applications.
The TOS9200 has AC Withstanding voltage and insulation resistance testing functions, while the TOS9201 also has the capability of DC withstanding voltage tests.

The TOS9200 employs a high efficiency switching power supply and a switching amplifier based on PWM technique. These features enable high power (AC 5kV, 100mA and over 200mA short circuiting the output) and enhanced stability. When combined with the earth continuity tester TOS6200, the TOS9200 Series integrates three or four types of tests in a single process.
Key features include rise and fall time control, memory and programming functions, discharge function, offset cancel function which cancels stray current in the test lead wire and jigs.
Furthermore, when used together with the high voltage scanner TOS9220 or the TOS9221 (equipped with contact check function) the tester is capable of automatically checking test points for up to 16 channels, thereby facilitating electrical safety tests from point to point in a system and not just the A.C power input.
The TOS9200/TOS9201 includes fully programmable GPIB, RS232C Interfaces and a “signal I/O connector” as standard.
