GAO Fiber Optics launched its upgraded, highly accurate handheld OTDR . supporting CATV, ISP and telecommunication fiber networks. It is commonly used for loss analysis and fault location in the manufacturing, installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks and equipment. This optical time domain reflectometer displays the length, attenuation coefficient, connection point, fault point and loss distribution curves of the fiber, as well as, loss between two points, splice loss and return loss.
This portable optical time domain reflectometer, model 3620, provides two on screen markers that can be used to zoom in and out on curve details and automatically locates and creates a list of fault points. It supports up to six sets of test result comparisons simultaneously while any single result is observable. The test results and event analysis lists can be printed out through the print-screen-function, which enables the user to upload the data to a PC. It features a compact size and easy operation making it convenient for indoor or outdoor testing. A large battery capacity enables continuous operation for more than 12 hours. The OTDR has a rapid response time which allows it to finish 50km fiber measurement in 30s with a high S/N ratio.
