Reliability and safety the most important attributes in generator and transformer technology. The Optocon AG developed for this purpose the fibre optic thermometer FOTEMPTrafo, that effectively support in these areas. To ensure a constant and guaranteed operational safety, the temperatures are monitored at critical points in transformers and generators permanently.

In combination FOTEMPTrafo with the fibre optic temperature probe TSTrafo and the innovative measurement method, allows accurate and precise results. By direct installation of the sensors in the trafo windings real, current and quick monitoring of hot spots in hazardous or electromagnetic fields is possible.

The upper housing shell has been optimised by a visual change. Information about current temperature measurement values are now displayed on a 4.3" LCD screen. The results can be read onsite directly from the device.

The fibre optic thermometer FOTEMPTrafo is available with 1-8 measurement channels. The compact unit size and the DIN-rail-clip provide an easy installation in the cabinet. A wide selection of interfaces (RS-232, RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet, USB, relay, analogue, WLAN and SD-card) makes communication even easier and ensures an optimal connection.

A fast measurement speed of 250ms per channel allows the direct detection of overloads. The wide measurement range from -200 to +300°C with an accuracy of ±0.2°C makes the FOTEMPTrafo an ideal partner for all transformer applications. There is also a wide range of accessories for the safe installation of sensors on the tank walls or bus bars available. This way optic feedthroughs, tank wall plates and covers can be used for the assembly. For the installation on bus bars and windings spacers and magnetic holder are recommended.
