E+E Elektronik have introduced a new CO2 probe for maintenance-free use in demanding OEM applications. Designated the EE871, E+E Elektronik's new carbon dioxide probe suits harsh environmental conditions such as: battery-powered devices such as data loggers, handhelds and wireless sensors; greenhouses; stables; fruit and vegetable storage facilities; hatchers; incubators; and other agriculture and outdoor applications.

Operating over a wide temperature range from -40°C to +60°C, the EE871 CO2 probe features a Modbus protocol. Enabling the easy retrieval and further processing of measurement values, this Modbus protocol also facilitates simple integration into custom applications. Very low power consumption means that the EE871 is also ideal for battery-powered devices.

Thanks to the multiple point CO2 and temperature adjustment procedure, the compact probe measures CO2 concentrations up to 10,000 ppm with temperature compensation ensuring the excellent measurement accuracy over the entire operating temperature range.

Based on NDIR infrared technology, the CO2 measurement cell of the probe uses a dual-wavelength auto-calibration procedure to enable maintenance free operation. Very resistant to environmental influences, the EE871 ensures excellent long-term stability with automatically compensated ageing effects.

The EE871 features an IP65-rated enclosure and a replaceable filter. Providing optimal protection from contamination, the EE871 can be used in harsh environmental conditions. With a compact design, M12 electrical connector and optional mounting flange, the new CO2 probe is easy to install and replace.
