Anritsu A/S, a subsidiary of Anritsu Corporation, a global provider of operational support solutions for advanced and converged networks, announced today the availability of a new 10 Gbps Ethernet test option for the all-round and easy-to-use CMA 3000 field tester.
The new Ethernet option supports dual port testing at 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps. At 10 Gbps the option comes in a single port and a dual port version. The new option allows both active out-of-service testing with one transmitter and one receiver and in-service bi-directional monitoring of Ethernet links in dual port configurations.

With this operators can now quickly test and measure access network communication links based on Ethernet and IP. Further options support testing of VoIP, SDH, E3, E4 and V-series interface lines, which together with the powerful E1 test capabilities for the basic CMA 3000 makes it a very versatile test solution.

For out-of-service installation and commissioning testing of Ethernet links the CMA 3000 provides powerful statistical Quality of Service measurements that can be documented with professional reports. With the in-service monitoring capability the user can quickly verify that both sides of the Ethernet link are working properly at rates up to 10 Gbps with the new option for the CMA 3000. As you can combine Ethernet testing with SDH, VoIP and E1/E3/E4 testing in one self-contained unit, the field technician is well equipped to solve the problems in the access network.

“Ethernet is widely used in today’s access networks and now speeds up to 10 Gbps are deployed by many operators.” said Ole Soerensen, Product Manager, Anritsu A/S. “These years operators are moving to Ethernet and IP based networks, but they still have legacy technologies in their networks that needs to be maintained. Therefore it is important for field technicians installing and maintaining access networks to have a universal tool like the CMA 3000 to test Ethernet together with the other technologies they have to take care of.”

CMA 3000 10 G Ethernet option highlights:

* Active out-of-service testing of Ethernet links from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps
* In-service monitoring of Ethernet links from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps
* Easy to use operation with intuitive setup pages on the large color screen
