32-Gb/s BERT streamlines R&D testing
Keysight Technologies has expanded its M8000 Series bit error ratio test solutions with with a 32Gb/s BERT front end and integrated capabilities for higher-data-rate testing. The newly integrated capabilities streamline testing for R&D and test engineers who need to characterise devices and systems for next-gen data centre and long-haul-comms applications.
Optical modulation analyser supports 400G standard
Tektronix has unveiled its new 45 GHz optical modulation analyser at the OFC 2015 exhibition and conference taking place this week in Los Angeles (Mar24-26). The OMA is capable of supporting the latest 100G and next-gen 400G communications standards. With support for single-carrier or multi-carrier systems, the analyser is tightly integrated with the TektronixDPO70000SX 70 GHz ATI Performance Oscilloscope also announced at OFC.
40GHz upconverter enhances vector signal generator
Rohde & Schwarz has released a 40 GHz version of its SGU100A RF upconverter. This version expands the frequency range of the SGS100A vector signal generator from 12.75 GHz to 40 GHz, making it the smallest microwave device of its kind on the market for continuous signals between 80 MHz and 40 GHz.
Arbitrary waveform generator targets automotive test
Automotive testing is the target market for Teseq’s eight-channel arbitrary waveform generator. The ARB 5500 fits inside the transient generator and features memory for over 64,000 standard waveform segments as well as 1 GB of Clone memory for user-defined shapes. This is enough memory for several thousand hours of simulations.
70GHz oscilloscope sets signal fidelity benchmark
Tracking the test needs in high speed communications and wideband RF technologies Tektronix today (March 24) announced the DPO70000SX 70 GHz ATI Performance Oscilloscope featuring the lowest-noise and highest effective bits of any ultra-high bandwidth real-time oscilloscope available on the market.
EMC laboratory used by customers & students to solve EMC issues
Recom’s recently opened headquarters has a well-equipped EMC laboratory, that can be used by customers and students to solve EMC issues in their own applications. The first projects have already been successfully concluded. One user of the new facility was a large international manufacturer of water pumps who needed to modify a product for EMC certification.
Flow meters feature pressure resistances of 10 & 16 bars
A range of flow meters, which are available in three different sizes and more than 20 measuring ranges, have been introduced by Meister Strömungstechnik. The RVO/U flow meters work on the float principle. This measuring technique has proven its reliability over decades, providing sturdy performance and rapid response times.
Switching system test tools lower cost of ownership
Pickering Interfaces is lowering the cost of ownership of switching systems with the introduction of its eBIRST Switching System Test Tools. These diagnostic test tools, designed specifically for Pickering Interfaces PXI, PCI or LXI (Ethernet) products, simplify switching system fault finding by quickly testing the system and identifying the faulty relays.
TAP transceiver boosts production efficiency
GOEPEL electronics has developed a new rack-mountable SCANFLEX TAP transceiver which enables testing and programming of multiple units under test (UUT), using 16 parallel test access ports (TAP). The space- and power-saving SFX-TAP16/G-RM-FXT allows the use in the production line as well as in applications with large distances to the target.
Improving 3D automotive navigation accuracy
Increasingly dense urban environments, covered car parks and multi-level highways pose a significant problem to vehicle navigation systems. Two techniques are used: dead reckoning and map matching but using the latter increases complexity and creates a dependency on 3rd-party providers of accurate map data. Also, the map data is constantly changing, especially in high-density cities.
