Solving challenging imaging problems
STEMMER IMAGING’s novel Trevista Surface 50 inspection system is supplied complete with structured diffuse illumination, lens, software, PC and a 5MP Genie TS camera from Teledyne DALSA. Using a patented 'shape from shading' technology, information on the 3D shape of an object can be deduced from the shading of its surfaces. This allows defects of just a few micrometre diameter and depth to be detected on a variety of material surfaces.
Battery monitoring LSI offers 25μA current consumption
LAPIS Semiconductor, a ROHM Group company, has recently announced the development of a 10-cell lithium-ion battery monitoring LSI that provides a current consumption of only 25μA (typ.), the lowest in the industry, making it suitable for battery protection systems in cordless vacuum cleaners, electric tools, and other portable equipment.
Fading simulation enhances LTE-A signalling tester
Integrated channel fading simulation has been introduced into its 4G LTE-Advanced Signalling Tester, the MD8430A by Anritsu. The new digital baseband fading options convert the MD8430A into a full-featured fading simulator supporting industry standard 3GPP-defined fading profiles.
Debug tool tackles Hyperflash memory
Lauterbach is now supporting the Spansion HyperFlash memory with its TRACE32 tools. The HyperBus Interface was introduced by Spansion in 2014 as a powerful improvement on today's low pin count memory interfaces and has been broadly implemented by the system-on-chip (SoC) manufacturers.
Memory analysis software accelerates design process
The B4661A memory analysis software has been developed by Keysight Technologies for use with its logic analysers. The software offers functional-level compliance violation testing capability across DDR4 and LPDDR4 speed changes. The new software has a performance analysis option that provides powerful new trace overview and navigation features.
The industry’s smallest high voltage SIL Form B reed relays
Pickering Electronics has announced the addition of the industry’s smallest high voltage SIL Form B (energise to break) reed relays to its Series 119 high voltage micro-SIL relay range. The relay is intended for voltages considerably higher than standard SIL relays, suitable for cable and backplane testers, mixed signal ATE or other applications where high voltage capability is required.
Design, test characterisation solutions prepared for Paris
Keysight Technologies is heading to European Microwave Week in Paris ready to demonstrate a wide range of design, test and characterisation solutions. Keysight has been a twelve-year platinum sponsor of the event, and it will have technical experts on hand to discuss and demonstrate the latest high-performance hardware and software solutions.
Function generators tackle 150MHz segment
The AFG3000C Arbitrary/Function Generator Series from Tektronix has been extended with two 150MHz models (one or two channels). Slotting between existing 100MHz and 240MHz models in the Tektronix AFG3000C lineup, the new AFG3151C and AFG3152C deliver 25 per cent more bandwidth and 59 percent more output zone with +/-5 V DC offset at the same price as competitive offerings in this segment.
Tools aid hydrogen-powered racing car development
IAR Systems is proud to announce that its world-leading development tools have helped Forze, a student foundation at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, to develop their hydrogen-powered racing cars. Thanks to its strong code optimisations and easy-to-use interface, IAR Embedded Workbench has helped the team to accelerate the development cycle and to get their cars into production faster.
Cloud-based solution cuts DAS installation costs
SkyBridge Tools is a cloud-based trace judgment solution for tower and in-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS) installations developed by Anritsu. It reduces costs and improves ROI. Serving as a data warehouse for contractors who are installing or modifying equipment for network operators, SkyBridge Tools saves time, reduces rework, and makes timely payment more likely by automating the trace judgment process.
