Digital thermometer uses NTC thermistor for sensing
Expanding its DMR20 series of round, miniature digital panel meters, Murata Power Solutions announces the DMR20-1-TMP-R-C digital thermometer. Designed to monitor ambient air temperatures from -40 to +105°C (-40 to +221°F) using an NTC thermistor as the sensing element, this meter is packaged in a round polycarbonate housing designed to easily mount in a 30.5mm (1.2") 'oil tight' panel cut out.
Data logger gets connected to cloud
IPETRONIK is offering the new communication module COMgate V3 for wireless data transmission in accordance with 4G and LTE standards with its M-LOG V3 data logger. The hardware system is complemented by the IPEcloud web portal, which supports high-speed and secure remote data transmission through to smart fleet management. The M-LOG V3 data logger is for validating and testing development vehicle fleets.
Machine vision live at AUTOMATICA 2016
MVTec Software GmbH will be presenting its portfolio at AUTOMATICA 2016 in Munich. MVTec will provide interactive demonstrations and applications of machine vision technology in automated production environments. The demonstrations are based on MVTec’s HALCON and MERLIC standard software solutions.
Monitoring software now available as a standalone product
Bittium SafeMove Analytics 3.0 software for monitoring and analysing the performance of wireless networks and mobile devices is now available as a standalone software product. Previously, the analytics tool was part of the SafeMove Mobile VPN solution. The technical features of SafeMove Analytics have been further developed, and it is now also available for Android smartphones and tablets.
Power tester solution for electric and hybrids
To test electric and hybrid vehicle (EV/HEV) power electronics reliably during power cycling, Mentor Graphics Corporation has introduced its latest MicReD Power Tester 600A product. The MicReD Power Tester 600A offering allows EV/HEV development and reliability engineers to test power electronics (such as insulated gate bipolar transistors - IGBTs, MOSFETs, transistors and chargers) for mission critical thermal reliability and lifecycle performan...
Answering the big manufacturing questions
A machining centre named SmartDriveComau 800L has been designed by Comau to answer the needs of the automotive sector, which requires increasingly fast, precise and flexible mechanical processes.
Automotive software that saves time and money
The mobile data acquisition software, Telemotive Download Terminal, from Telemotive AG, has been made more convenient by now being integrated directly into Telemotive System Client, the central Windows client for all Telemotive products. There is no longer any need for a Linux computer, saving users time and money.
Tests show how trucks can reuse engine heat for power
Working with automotive manufacturer Scania, researchers from KTH Royal Institute of Technology have been testing semi trucks equipped with a system that converts exhaust heat into power — through a process called thermoelectric generation (TEG). The voltage produced by the system can power the truck and reduce the strain on the engine, explains researcher Arash Risseh.
Test solution targets 802.11ax high-efficiency wireless
An early access version of the WLAN Measurement Suite with support for the IEEE 802.11ax (draft 0.1) high-efficiency wireless draft standard has been announced by National Instruments. The WLAN Measurement Suite, combined with NI’s RF vector signal transceiver (VST), empowers engineers to measure the performance of their 802.11ax designs confidently in the presence of significant new changes to the 802.11 physical layer specification.
Detecting of partial discharge (PD) in rotating machines
A newly launched solution from HVPD enables the detection of partial discharge (PD) in rotating machines. The PDS Insight Machines’ technology can be used to detect and trend PD - a common cause of electrical failures in critical assets.
