Vishay Intertechnology has released a miniature immersion sensor for fluid temperature sensing. The NTCAIMME3 is suitable for applications including liquid processing equipment, water boilers, chiller systems, water and oil tanks, consumer and industrial appliances, medical fluid circulators and solar heating systems.

Supplied in a stainless steel housing for permanent contact with fluids, the sensor is comprised of an NTC thermistor chip with twin PVC-insulated AWG #30 lead wire connections. A small 2.0mm diameter tip enables fast, accurate temperature sensing with little heat loss through the connecting wires. A brass collar is available for sealed mounting, or the device can be supplied without a collar for custom mounting.

The NTCAIMME3 provides a very fast response time of 1.5s, low thermal gradient of less than 0.02K/K and high base temperature accuracy of ±1.5°C. Operating over a temperature range from -25 to +105°C, the device features maximum power dissipation of 100mW. The RoHS-compliant sensor offers resistance at +25°C (R25) of 10 kΩ with a tolerance of ± 3 % and beta (B25/85) of 3984K with a tolerance of ±0.5%.

The NTCAIMME3 is available now for sampling and in production quantities, with lead times of 8-10 weeks for large orders.
