TDK-Lambda EMEA, one of the world’s leading power supply manufacturers, introduces the CSS65 series of compact, single-output power supplies designed specifically with medical applications in mind. With 4kVac reinforced input to output isolation and input to ground isolation of 1500Vac, all CSS65 models meet the applicable safety requirements of UL/EN/IEC60601-1 making them suitable for use in medical devices with applied part rating B.
Offered in an industry standard 2 x 4” footprint, with a low profile height of 30mm including underside components, the new open-frame CSS65 power supplies come with dual fused universal ac input, and can deliver up to 65W at 50°C under convection cooling. Worst-case leakage current is less than 250µA at 264Vac/60Hz, complying with worldwide medical equipment requirements.

The CSS65 series covers all commonly used output voltages from 5 to 48V with over 87% efficiency. The models are rated for operation in a convection cooled environment from 0 to 70°C, with appropriate derating. Remote sense connections are provided to compensate for cable drops between the output terminals and the load. Other standard features include continuous short circuit protection and over voltage protection with automatic reset.

TDK-Lambda’s CSS65 series meets conducted and radiated EMC requirements of EN55011-B and FCC Class B (without additional filtering or components) and EN60601-1-2 immunity specifications for greater reliability. All models in the CSS65 series carry the CE mark, according to the LV Directive, and come with a two-year warranty.
