The HPBC20 for PCB mounting has a wide input voltage range between 14.4 and 154V DC with an output power of 20W. According to Autronic, a single device suits all international on-board power supply voltages of rail vehicles (24, 36, 72 and 110V) including the ± 40% tolerance required according to EN50155. It is therefore suitable for companies with Europe-wide activities, as one converter is sufficient for the qualification of modules, says the company.

The converter complies with EN50155 regarding temperature, shock, vibration, as well as the railway specific criteria for EMC, surge, burst and ESD without additional components. There is also an integrated hold-up time of 10ms (Class S2) that distinguishes this converter in this power range. Efficiency is approximately 88% and the converter fulfills the fire and smoke requirements, according the EN45545-2 R25 HZL 1 to 3.

Other Features are inrush current limitation, over-temperature protection, over-voltage protection and short-circuit protection. There is a version with output 5.0 or 12V, and also a version with 24V single output voltage available.

In addition to the PCB mounting model, there is also a version for DIN rail mounting (35mm) available.
