Gresham Power announced the release of its ATCA Power System solution. Consisting of a 1U, 19” rack mounting, 3 bay power-shelf and mating power modules the ATCA power supply offers 3 x 800 up to 3 x 1500 watts of power with 12 / 24 / 48V outputs per 1U rack-mount chassis and an optional I2C/ IPMI digital interface.
ATCA, or Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture, is a recently introduced open standard specification developed by PICMG (PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group). ATCA brings together emerging high speed interconnection and data processing technologies while offering increased reliability and system management for communications systems.

The Gresham Power ATCA Power System features a universal AC input (85 to 264VAC) with active power factor correction compliant to EN61000-3-2 Class D, features hot-swap N+! redundant power modules with current power share, over voltage, over current and over temperature protection circuits. With fully ATCA compliant LED indicators the system provides analogue status and control signals and an auxiliary 3.3VSB power

The new ATCA power source offers operational efficiency up to 89% and reliability of >300k hours to Bellcore 332 Issue 6 (30°C). The power system can be quickly configured to meet customer-specific requirements for a best fit into individual applications. All models are CE marked, certified to EN60950, UL60950 and meet EN55022 class A emissions

Jake Moir, Managing Director of Gresham Power Electronics, comments; “The ATCA architecture reduces time to market and manufacturing costs for communications equipment by allowing off-the-shelf, pre-approved, interchangeable modular components to be quickly assembled into fully functional telecommunications systems. Our new ATCA power shelf provides an efficient and reliable power source for ATCA system designers and VAR’s.”
