TMD Technologies will be highlighting its latest solid state and TWT based high power density MPMs on Stand 40 at Electronic Warfare (EW) Europe 2015. These latest MPMs (Microwave Power Modules), namely the solid state PTS6900 and TWT-based PTXM units underline TMD’s reputation and expertise in the EW/ECM (Electronic CounterMeasures) field, where they have supplied products for airborne, ground based and naval platforms.

The solid state PTS6900 MPM from TMD makes full use of the latest 0.25µm GaN MMIC technology and low loss power combiners to provide top performance and reliability over the frequency band 2 to 6GHz. Generating an output power of 150W, the PTS6900 has a 55dB gain, adjustable from 50 to 60dB and has been optimised for use in EW/ECM systems.

With a predicted reliability of over 30,000 hours MTBF, the PTS6900 MPM provides instant start up plus a fast mute time. Moreover, it is ITAR free, a distinct advantage to non-US customers. TMD’s two new PTXM1001 and PTXM1002 TWT based MPMs have been designed for airborne radar, EW and communications and are suitable for applications where low volume and weight are critical, such as UAVs.

Operating over the frequency range 4.5 to 18.0GHz with power outputs up to 140W, the MPMs incorporate mini TWTs and employ high efficiency packaging to offer perhaps the highest power density on the market. The PTXM units are fully integrated for easy installation and the flexible modular design makes them simpler to manufacture and test, resulting in lower cost.
