A compact high power density AC-DC module approved for power delivery to medical devices is on sale at Luso Electronics. Delivering 1200W of power and achieving up to 93% peak efficiency, the ML1200 from Qualstar has active Power Factor Correction (PFC) and forced current sharing for parallel operation.

Active PFC provides efficient power frequency using a circuit to correct power factor, significantly diminishes total harmonics, automatically corrects for AC input voltage, and is capable of a full range of input voltage.

Models in the ML1200 series offer single outputs of 12V, 15V, 24V, 30V, 36V, 48V and 60VDC, programmable between 0% and 105%. Output current is also programmable between 0% and 105%. A +5V, 0.5A or +9V, 0.3A auxiliary output is also provided.

The new units offer a universal AC input with a built-in safeguard against any sudden drop in power (brown-out protection) combined with a True DC OK signal indicator. Additionally, there is protection against overload, over voltage and over temperature plus a remote sense function to safely regulate the supply's output voltage.

Fully CE and Safety certified*, the ML Series power modules measure 260.5 x 127 x 63.5mm. Supplied with a 3-year standard warranty, the power supplies can be used in a variety of medical or non-medical products.
