Lower cost versions of the most popular converters in RECOM's industrial products portfolio, the company has announced seven cost-effective DC/DC converters designated the E-series. Operating over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C, the 1W converters are suitable for isolation of interfaces or bus systems.

The E-series is comprised of seven converters: the R1SE-0505 is an unregulated 1W DC/DC converter in an SMD case; the REE-0505S and RBE-0505S are 1W unregulated converters supplied in SIP7 cases with different pin-outs; the ROE-0505S is a 1W unregulated converter in an SIP4 case; the RKE-0505S/H is a 1W unregulated converter in an SIP7 case with 3.75kVDC isolation; the R-78E5.0 is a 500mA switching regulator in an SIP3 case; and the ROF-78E5.0 is a 500mA switching regulator with an open frame SMD construction. By offering the converters in 5 different case sizes and pin-out styles, RECOM has ensured drop-in compatibility.

The unregulated DC/DC converters feature 5V input and output and operate with efficiencies up to 75%. Despite the low price, they are fully UL60950 certified to reduce the costs and certification time for the end-application. The R-78E and ROF-78E series offer high efficiency, wide input voltage range and accurate output voltage regulation at a cost-effective price. With high efficiencies of 92%, the regulators do not require external components, including heat sinks.

Retaining the same quality, RECOM has halved the priced with optimised design, streamlined manufacturing processes, and in-house high volume production. All of the new E-series converters are supplied with RECOM’s standard full three year warranty.
