External 35W power supply is energy efficient

SL Power Electronics Corp. announces a single output power supply family for medical applications up to 32W. The Ault MW173 family is designed to help medical equipment OEMs replace linear power supplies with a single, globally compatible switch-mode power unit that is 35 percent more energy-efficient than conventional models.

“Our customers need energy efficient, versatile external power supplies to meet the demands of their medical applications,” said Nigel Davies, SL Power’s European Managing Director. “The MW173 is Energy Star-compliant and is in a popular power level for a wide range of portable medical systems including portable respirators, sleep apnea equipment and dental equipment.”

The Ault MW173 family features a 100VAC to 240VAC universal input range from five to 24V. It also meets the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Energy Star requirements for energy-efficient products. As an Energy Star partner, SL Power Electronics produces external power adapters that meet the program’s requirements for efficiency and no-load power consumption.

The Ault MW173 products are available in desktop and wall plug styles with output voltage models in 5, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24V and are a low-cost option for leading medical device OEMs. The CE-compliant Ault MW173 also meets safety agency requirements, including UL60601-1 and IEC/EN60601-1. Competitively priced, the Ault MW173 provides an affordable, energy-wise option for medical OEM design engineers.

SL Power Electronics Corp. also offers modified and custom designs to meet specific OEM requirements.
