Emerson Network Power has launched its latest high-efficiency AC-DC power solution, the LPT100-M series. The power supplies features both information technology equipment (ITE) and non-patient contact/critical medical safety approvals, making them ideal for use in ITE and light industrial systems, as well as equipment intended for non-patient contact and non-patient critical use in low power medical, dental and laboratory applications.
The LPT100-M series features a compact open-frame design, measuring just 2 x 4 inches and a height of less than 1U (1.28 inches). It has a high typical full-load efficiency of 82 percent and a power density of 12 watts per cubic inch. An enclosure kit is available for the Emerson LPT100-M series to ensure maximum component protection. The power supplies have a wide full-load ambient operating temperature range of 0 to +50 degrees Celsius and can cold-start from temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius.

The triple-output power supplies offer a wide adjustable 80-130W range of output power and feature a universal 90-264 Vac input – enabling them to be used anywhere in the world. They are also capable of operating from a 127-300 Vdc input. The power supplies produce three tightly regulated outputs ranging from 5 to 24V depending on the model. All outputs can be adjusted from -40 to +10 percent, with the exception of the 24V output, which has a -10 to +20 percent range. The power supplies also have a maximum safety-ground leakage current of 275 μA, and the main output has a hold-up time of 10 ms minimum when fed with a 120 Vac input and delivering 130 watts of output power.

LPT100-M power supplies are comprehensively protected against overvoltage, overtemperature and overload/short-circuit conditions. The power supplies are equipped with a ‘power fail’ signal for remote monitoring purposes which will change state at least 6 ms before the main output loses regulation. The power supplies also feature remote sense facilities capable of compensating for a drop of up to 0.5 V between the output terminals and the load.

Emerson's LPT100-M AC-DC power supplies comply with the rigorous EN55022-B and FCC part 15 Level B EMC standards for conducted noise. They also carry a wide set of safety approvals, including UL/TUV/CSA/NEMKO/AUSTEL 60950-1 and non-patient contact and non-patient critical 60601-1.
