Rated at up to 1,000W output power, the CPFE1000FI series of conduction cooled AC/DC power supplies has been introduced by TDK-Lambda. Designed for RF power amplifiers, data communications and harsh industrial environments where cooling fans are not permitted, the power supplies require no external airflow and are instead designed to be used with a cold-plate, in sealed enclosures or systems that are liquid cooled.

The power supplies are available in three compact package types: a low profile U-channel, with or without a cover; and as an open-frame PCB assembly. The CPFE1000FI is suited for users who require a fully compliant conduction-cooled power supply, but do not have the time or resources to develop a custom power-module based solution.

Available with 12, 24/28 or 48V outputs, the units will operate at full load from a 90-265VAC input with baseplate temperatures from -40 to +85°C. A standard I2C interface allows engineers to interrogate the output voltage/current, base plate temperature, manufacturing location/date and serial number of the CPFE1000FI. In addition, the remote on/off control, DC good function, and over temperature warning are ideal for monitoring and controlling the power supply in remote applications.

The CPFE1000FI U-channel measures 254x112x44mm and the PCB package style just 254x107x40mm. An option for a protective coating is available to help protect against the ingress of moisture or contaminants. The units are safety certified to IEC/EN/US 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives. The units also comply with EN 55011-B and EN 55022-B conducted emissions (Class A radiated), and meet both the IEC 61000-3-2 harmonics and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
