Protect Blue UPS reduces TCO for large data centres
AEG Power Solutions has launched its latest Protect Blue UPS at Data Centre World Frankfurt, where it is exhibiting in Hall 4.1 on Stand 244. The system will also be showcased at DataCenterDynamics Europe in London (Stand 306). UPS systems from AEG Power Solutions ensure the continuous availability of power and ensure safe operations of all types of critical applications in the toughest environments.
High-voltage rectifiers ensure robust operation
Designed to provide robust rectification, blocking and reverse-battery protection for automotive ECUs, two AEC-Q101-qualified high-voltage rectifiers have been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. The compact, small form factor and thermally efficient SOD123F package enables the S1MSWFQ standard rectifier and RS1MSWFQ fast rectifier to deliver a superior level of performance from a PCB footprint that is less than half that of similar SMA packaged r...
2A multifunction LDO regulators feature adjustable output
Torex Semiconductor has launched the XC6230 series of 2A high-speed multifunction LDO regulators with adjustable output. The XC6230 series are small and fast multifunction LDO regulators with a maximum output current of 2A and an adjustable output voltage and current limit value.
Configurable power supplies cut development costs
The configurable RCB Series of power supplies from ROAL is now available from Luso Electronics. The 600W and 1200W modules are the smallest configurable power supplies in the market. Their ultra-compact size means they readily fit into a wide range of space-constrained applications such as industrial, telecom, test and measurement and medical environments.
EMI filters with touch-proof terminals
The RP328 series of EMI and RFI power line filters from Astrodyne TDI are now being offered with screw type, touch-proof terminals. This single stage, 3-phase power line filter family targets low to mid-range power inverters as well as other chassis mounted applications that require high insertion loss performance in a compact mechanical form factor. The RP328 series is well suited for use with 3-phase variable frequency drives (VFD) and inverter...
Delivering a 50% reduction in power
A collaboration between GLOBALFOUNDRIES and Synopses has resulted in a RTL-to-GDSII solution for the industry's first 22-nanometre (nm) fully depleted silicon-on-insulator (FD-SOI) technology process.
60A digital point-of-load DC/DC converter delivers power density
Ericsson has announced the launch of a 60A 3E* digital point-of-load (POL) DC/DC power module, the BMR466, designed to power MPUs, FPGAs, ASICs and other digital ICs on complex boards. Up to eight of the fully regulated 60A (maximum) POL converters can be connected in parallel to deliver up to 480A in multi-module and multi-phase systems.
Reference design is the world’s first Qi-Certified
ROHM has received certification from WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) for its reference design using the BD57020MWV wireless power transmitter IC. This is the first device in the world certified to be compliant with the Qi medium power specification.
X-rays & neutrons explain ageing in Li-ion batteries
A key issue with lithium ion batteries is ageing. It significantly reduces their potential storage capacity. To date, very little is known about the causes of the ageing effects. Scientists from the Department of Technical Electrochemistry and the Research Neutron Source FRM II at the Technical University of Munich have now come a step closer to identifying the causes in their latest experiments.
Wide range input DC/DC converters deliver 30W in a 1x1" footprint
TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the CCG30 series of 30W DC/DC converters. Packaged in the industry standard 1x1" footprint, the CCG series can operate over a wide 4:1 input range. Enclosed in a metal case with six-sided shielding, these high performance converters are suitable for use in data and tele-communications, industrial control, test and measurement, broadcast and portable battery powered equipment.
