Precision op amp features low 1/f corner frequency
The LT6018, a precision op amp featuring 30nVP-P 0.1 to 10Hz noise and 50µV max input offset voltage has been introduced by Linear Technology. Designed especially for applications sensitive to low frequency noise, the LT6018 has a very low 1/f corner frequency of less than 1Hz. The low input offset voltage holds over temperature and input common mode range: TCVOS is 0.5µV/°C maximum and CMRR is 124dB minimum.
Power supplies customisation centre opens its doors
A factory-certified configuration centre to enable customers to customise or modify units within the ROAL RCB series of high input voltage power supplies has been opened by Luso Electronics. Luso will assemble and ship customised power supply orders within 48‑hours and, in most cases, modified units will be dispatched the same day.
High efficiency AC/DC power modules are rated up to 1000W
TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the PFE1000FA series of power modules, representing a significant upgrade to the PFE1000F launched eight years ago. The series offers efficiencies as high as 90%, an improvement of up to 4%. Rated between 720W and 1000W, the products are designed for use with a cold-plate where cooling fans are not permitted, including industrial, MIL-COTS and communications applications.
POL DC/DC converter delivers 20A from 5 & 12V bus voltages
TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the iBH series of 80W, 20A Point of Load (POL) non-isolated DC/DC converters, featuring a wide 0.7V to 5.5V output adjustment range. The iBH converters can operate from either 5V or 12Vdc bus voltages, having a wide input voltage range of 3.5V to 14V, reducing inventory carrying costs by stocking just one part number.
Doubling battery power of consumer electronics
An MIT spinout is preparing to commercialise a novel rechargeable lithium metal battery that offers double the energy capacity of the lithium ion batteries that power many of today’s consumer electronics.
Synchronous rail-to-rail regulator features a single resistor
The LTC3623, a ±5A high efficiency, current mode synchronous buck regulator that is adjustable from 14.5 down to 0V output with a single resistor has been announced by Linear Technology. Proven on Linear Technology’s prior linear and switching regulators, the LTC3623 uses a 50µA current reference, combined with a single resistor, to set the output voltage.
Family of Level VI+ compliant power supplies expanded
The addition of the TE120 series external power models has been announced by SL Power Electronics, to its Level VI+ family of power solutions. Designed for test and measurement and industrial devices that require low noise and rugged performance, the new 120-watt TE desktop external power supplies exceed the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Level VI efficiency requirements and provide:
Laboratory power supply minimises emissions
A new series of auto-ranging desktop power supplies from German manufacturer of laboratory power supplies and electronic loads, Elektro-Automatik is in stock at Conrad Business Supplies. The PSI 9000 DT series provides users with a high-end solution that delivers extremely low-emission DC power in a far smaller package than older, more expensive linear technology power supplies.
µModule regulator can be placed on PC board close to its load
The LTM4631, a dual 10 or single 20A µModule step-down regulator in an ultrathin 1.91mm LGA package with a 16x16mm footprint has been introduced by Linear Technology. The LTM4631 can be placed on a PC board very close to its load such as an FPGA, while sharing one heat sink covering both of their low profile packages.
Energy efficient chokes with compact design and IP66 protection rating
Chokes with a protective paint coating according to IP66 which protects them from water and dust have been introduced by SMP Sintermetalle Prometheus (SMP). The components are used to choke the current in inverters that are exposed to harsh ambient conditions, including rail vehicles or oil rig applications.
