AC/DC power supplies use base plate cooling for decentralised power
Modules that can be installed as a decentralised power supply for industrial applications have been announced by MTM Power.
Professional quality li-on charger maximises battery performance
Mascot AS, a Norwegian power design company has introduced its next-generation high-quality, high-performance lithium-ion battery charger, the new model 3546LI. The 3546LI uses a 3-stage charging profile with a microprocessor to maximise battery performance. The new charger is also capable of waking up deeply discharged batteries and soft-start charging with low current until voltage is normalised.
Hybrid supercapacitors encourage 'energy snacking'
Hybrid supercapacitors from PBC Tech are thin, lightweight and have a fast recharge capability to charge devices in minutes rather than hours. The company (formerly called the Paper Battery Company) calls this rapid recharging energy snacking.
Wall plug adapters offer 5VDC single regulated outputs
CUI has introduced four new series of 3W wall plug power adapters to its portfolio of DoE Level VI and CoC Tier 2 compliant external power supplies. The SWI3‑N and SWI3‑N‑USB series, available with North American input blades, and the SWI3‑E and SWI3‑E‑USB series, featuring European input blades, are all certified to meet the current average efficiency and no-load power requirements enforced by the US Department of Energy’s (DoE...
Digital disruption in the power industry
Globally, increasing demand for energy and power encourages companies operating in energy and power industry to adopt solutions that can help them enhance production output with minimum errors and reduced down-time. The products are offered specifically for the energy sector to enhance operations in the energy data management area. By Anand Shanker, Research Analyst at MarketsandMarkets.
Railway DC/DC converters feature ultra wide input range
When planning a universally applicable railway device typically at least three versions of the same design are necessary to cover all standard supply voltages in railway vehicles ranging from a nominal 24-110VDC. This causes additional complications, which can be avoided by using RECOM’s newly developed DC/DC railway converters with ultra-wide input voltage, which allow for all-in-one solutions.
N-channel MOSFET features integrated SRD for power supplies
Toshiba Electronics Europe has expanded its line-up of MOSFETs based on its latest generation U-MOS-IX-H trench semiconductor process with a new, ultra compact 40V device featuring an integrated Soft Recovery Diode (SRD).
DC/DC converters for rail applications feature tight regulation
MINMAX has announced its new MKZI10 family of 10W railway DC/DC in the industry standard 1x2" footprint. The 10W MKZI10 family consists of 18 models with ultra-wide input ranges of 9-36/18-75/40-160Vin and outputs of 5/12/15/24/±12/±15V in a 1.00x2.00x0.43" shielded and encapsulated package with no minimum load requirements.
Rectifier controller features reverse protection
Analog Devices has announced an active rectifier controller with reverse input protection to -40V, named Power by Linear LT8672. Its 3-42V input voltage capability is suitable for automotive applications which must regulate through cold-crank and stop-start scenarios with minimum input voltages as low as 3.0V and load dump transients up to 40V.
Nanocomposite electrolyte designed for next-gen battery use
At the Imec Technology Forum Japan, imec and Panasonic, announced that they have developed a solid nanocomposite electrolyte for next-gen batteries with a lithium ion conductivity several times greater than its liquid equivalent. The ion conductivity already reaches several mS/cm at room temperature.
