SL Power Electronics has announced a family of 75W external switch-mode power supplies for medical applications that comply with Level IV Energy Star requirements – the highest rating currently attainable. Marketed under the Ault brand name, the MW156 is a single output family that is available in four voltages with a power range up to 75W.

“SL Power Electronics is the established leader in medical power,” said Nigel Davies, European Managing Director for SL Power Electronics. “We have the design engineering expertise and the years of proven experience desired by medical OEMs. The MW156 series marks a new level of superiority in a series of standard products that are highly reliable and meet stringent global medical safety standards.”

Although the medical electronics market is currently exempt from the global energy conservation standards, many medical OEMs are interested in designing devices that meet the newest environmental initiatives. By satisfying Level IV Energy Star requirements, the Ault MW156 series meets international power supply efficiency standards, and complies with the mandatory California Energy Commission (CEC) Tier 2 standard.

The desktop-style Ault MW156 series is ideal for a wide range of medical applications including diagnostic and imaging equipment, monitors of all types, home health care systems and portable equipment.

The CE-compliant MW156 meets UL60601-1, TUV/EN60601-1 and IEC60601-1 and is available in 12-, 15-, 18- and 24V models. It is priced at approximately $31.00 for OEM quantities of 1000.

All Ault MW156 models can be modified to meet unique power or connectivity requirements. SL Power Electronics can also design a 100 percent custom solution to meet specific OEM requirements and private label marking needs.
