400W AC/DC power supplies operate at an efficiency of 93%

A series of 400W AC/DC power supplies, which operate at worldwide input voltages of 277, 347 and 480VAC, has been introduced by ROAL Electronics. When applied to a single or three-phase input voltage ranging from 249 to 528VAC, the DDP400-HV power supplies eliminate the need for a front end step-down transformer.

The devices, which are available with a 24V output, feature a 5VDC stand-by function and a 12VDC auxiliary output with Remote On/Off and output diagnostic signals. 36VDC and 48VDC models will be available later this year.

Housed in an IP67 rated sealed enclosure, the power supplies feature outdoor flying leads for both input and output connections. The DDP400-HV power supplies can be installed directly or with an optional heat sink.

The devices typically operate at an efficiency of 93%, minimising heat generation and allowing for increased reliability and service life. Operating from a temperature range of -40 to +70°C, the power supplies deliver full output power without any derating from -35 to +50°C.

Approved for high altitude operation, the DDP400-HV power supplies comply with all International Safety & Regulatory standards. The devices are also UL recognised according to UL 8750 and CSA C22.2 No 250, allowing them to be used within dry or damp hazardous environments. The power supplies are suitable for a wide range of lighting and industrial applications where high power density from a convection or conduction cooled power supply is required.
