Expanding its range of wall mounted plug-in power supplies, XP Power has announced the VEL and VER series. These wall plug PSUs provide a wide range of power levels and meeting the energy efficiency and no load requirements of the new DoE Energy Efficiency Level VI and the EU CoC Tier 2 standards.

Complementing the recently released 5 & 12W models, both series are available in 18, 24 and 36W single output models. All the popular nominal output voltages of 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24VDC are available, with the 18W models also providing a 5VDC output unit. The VEL series is available with a fixed input plug configuration accommodating US, UK or EU format. The VER models are provided with a set of US, UK, EU and Australian interchangeable input plugs. The output is delivered through an industry standard 2.1x5.5x12mm barrel jack on a 1.5m cable.

The VEL and VER series are approved to the international IEC/EN/UL/cUL 60950-1 safety standards for IT equipment and comply with the Class B limits of EN55022 for both conducted and radiated emissions.

All models are approved as a limited power source so that should any faults occur the output power is limited to a safe level. Also, with their Class II construction, no separate earth/ground connection is required.

The VEL/VER series can be used across the range 0 to +60°C, with full power available up to +45°C.

The VER and VEL series is available from Farnell, element14, Digi-Key, approved regional distributors, or direct from XP Power and come with a three year warranty.
