Absopulse Electronics’ RSI 300 Series railway quality, DC/AC inverter uses field proven topology to generate a 300VA pure sign wave output voltage. It meets all relevant railway standards including EN 50155, EN50121-3-2 conducted and radiated EMI, EN 55022 Class B, and EN 61000 immunity.
This microprocessor-controlled high frequency PWM design delivers 115Vac continuous at 60Hz or 400Hz, or 230Vac continuous at 50Hz, regulated to a maximum of +/-2% from no load to full load. It accepts supply voltages of 24Vdc (14.4-34V range), 36Vdc (22-51V range), 48Vdc (28- 67V range), 72Vdc (43-101V range), 96Vdc (58-135V range) or 110Vdc (66-154V range). Other input and output values are available on request. An optional output Fail Alarm (Form C) is also available on this design.

The RSI 300 unit operates over a -25°C to +50°C cold-plate temperature range without derating. Cooling is via baseplate to a heatsinking surface and by natural convection. High frequency conversion enables compact construction, low weight and high efficiency. The unit is housed in a 153 x 67 x 357 mm vented chassis-mount enclosures and weighs 2.2 kg. Ruggedizing and conformal coating ensures resistance to shock and vibration (meets EN61373/IEC61373), moisture and airborne contaminants.

Low component count, large design headroom, and the use of components with established reliability result in a high MTBF. The unit has 3kVdc input to output isolation. It features full electronic protection including inrush current limiting, reverse polarity protection, output current limiting with short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown with automatic recovery in case of insufficient cooling.
