2W isolated DC/DC converter increases efficiency
Designed to deliver improved efficiency, isolation, and thermal performance, the PDS2-M series has been introduced by CUI. This 2W isolated DC/DC converter series provides a reliable solution for converting and/or isolating DC rails within a variety of industrial, telecomms, security and machine control applications.
Measuring 12.7x11.2x7.25mm (0.50x0.44x0.29"), the unregulated PDS2-M series is packaged in the same compact 8 pin SMT package as the existing 1W PDS family. The series offers 1.5kV Dc I/O isolation, anti-static protection up to 8kV DC and an ultra-wide operating temperature range from -40 to +105°C.
With nominal inputs of 5, 12, 15, and 24V DC and outputs of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 and 24V DC, the DC/DC converters deliver typical efficiencies up to 86%. According to CUI, this makes the PDS2-M series highly efficient compared to other products in their class. The modules have been designed to greatly reduce power consumption under light and no load conditions, enhancing performance across the entire load curve. The DC/DC converters are available as standard with continuous short circuit protection, providing an additional layer of protection for sensitive loads.
