Meeting the forthcoming DOE Level VI and EU CoC Tier 2 energy efficiency standards, the VEL12 and VER12 series from XP Power meet the new minimum no load power consumption requirement of less than 0.1W and 0.075W, respectively. In the US the DOE Level VI standard will be implemented during February 2016 and the European CoC Tier 2 Level VI is due during January 2016.

The 12W single output wall plug power supplies are available in three single output models providing the popular nominal outputs of +5, +9 or +12VDC. The VER12 series is supplied with interchangeable AC input plug pins for use in the UK, EU, US and Australia. The VEL12 series is supplied with a fixed AC input plug accommodating a US, UK or an EU arrangement, this being selected at the time of order. Output is provided through a standard 5.5mm barrel jack plug across the range.

No earth connection is required since the supplies meet the Class II input requirements. Also, the units comply with the IEC 60950-1 safety standard and EN55022 Class B limits for conducted and radiated emissions.

Capable of operating in most environments, the VER12/VEL12 can operate from 0 to +60°C and at full power up to +40°C.

The VEL12 & VER12 series are available from Farnell, element14, Digi-Key, approved regional distributors, or direct from XP Power and come with a three year warranty.
